Real-Time Cross-Language Communication with Integrated STT and TTS

Language is one of the main barriers for cross-sector global cooperations, diversly affecting domains such as education, business, healthcare, and travel. Despite the advancements in multilingual translation models, they still suffer from high latency, low accuracy, and poor contextual handling leading to critical yet unanswered gaps. In order to bridge this gap and as a contribution to advancement in existing solution, this paper proposes a hybrid system of real-time voice-activated multilingual translation that uses the speech to text (STT) and text to speech (TTS) technologies. The proposed architecture leverages Wav2Vec 2.0 and DeepSpeech for accurate speech recognition, Tacotron 2 and WaveNet for natural sounding speech generation, and mBERT and XLM-R for accurate multilingual translation. By opting techniques such as noise reduction, domain adaptation, and data augmentation, this system challenges variability in speech, background noise and linguistic nuances with respect to formal, technical and informal form of speech and low-resource language support. This implies that these improvements guarantee smooth yet real-time communication that is suitable for dynamic applications. The system helps in improvising user experience by decreasing translation delays and producing high quality output thus helping to improve adoption. As a part of future implementations, the number of languages supported could be increased and the contextual accuracy can be improvised with more sophisticated architectures, and the accessibility of this system could be added for multiple use cases. The objective of this paper is to break language barriers in global applications.
