Performance Analysis of Laminated Composite Mono Leaf Springs for Lightweight Automobiles

Lightweight vehicles have become more popular because of fuel economy and environmental sustainability. Leaf springs may be the most user-friendly and cost-effective suspension technology. A vehicle's suspension system relies on the leaf spring for support and comfort. Vehicle leaf springs are dynamically strained owing to varying loads. A vehicle's ride quality depends on its suspension leaf springs. Stiffness and fatigue life measure entire leaf spring performance. The laminated spring may reduce vehicle weight. Composite materials have made leaf springs lighter while preserving strength and stiffness. Composites' strength-to-weight ratio, fatigue resistance, and natural frequencies make them perfect for leaf springs. Composites are better than steel because of weight reduction and mechanical improvements. Laminated composite (Boron aluminium) materials have made leaf springs lighter without losing strength and rigidity. Composites are better than steel because they save weight and increase mechanical qualities. This article analyzes Boron aluminum mono leaf spring structural and vibrational properties. Boron aluminum's static and vibration study values of 60.849 MPa and 49.965 mm are superior to conventional steel.
