Efficient and Streamlined Demodulation Strategy for High-Frequency Talkative DC-DC Converters

The integration of data transfer and power conversion in modern power electronics requires efficient encoding and decoding methods to achieve high transmission throughput. This paper introduces an analog Frequency-Shift Keying (FSK) receiver tailored for High-Frequency (HF) GaN-based talkative converters, capable of demodulating data from switching noise pulses at MHz frequencies. The proposed approach achieves high bit-rates while simplifying the circuit and enhancing reliability through the use of analog devices such as operational amplifiers, comparators, and monostables. By translating the switching noise—where the pulse repetition rates represent the transmitted information—into logic levels, the design offers a new and effective method for FSK demodulation in talkative converters. It successfully addresses challenges posed by rapid pulse rates while minimizing the need for costly digital processing components. Unlike prior methods limited to kHz frequencies with lower data rates, this development provides a robust solution for handling FSK demodulation in the MHz range, meeting the demand for high-speed and reliable data transfer in Power and Signal Dual Modulation (PSDM) systems.
