Optimizing Cross-Platform Development with CI/CD and Containerization: A Review

This review paper aims at discovering the integration of containerization within cross-platform development by using the help of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment/Delivery (CI/CD) practices and tries to fill the existing gaps concerning the effects of containerization on the compatibility, performance, and security of cross-platform applications. We conducted a wide-ranging literature review and analyzed existing tools and frameworks like Docker, Kubernetes, and cross-platform development frameworks like Flutter and React Native. Our study has brought out best practice to enhance security and performance in containerized cross-platform applications. The findings suggest that containerization with MAC and AppArmor-based robust security may improve deployment and management of applications a great deal. The work contributes to this field by presenting actional insights and recommendations for developers as well as organizations adopting CI/CD pipelines for cross-platform development.
