A Novel 32-bit Encryption and Decryption Method for High-Speed Non-Critical Data Applications

A novel 32-bit encryption and decryption method presented in this paper. The proposed method is specifically designed for 32-bit data blocks, making it suitable for applications requiring smaller data sizes. The Shift Rows, Add Round Key and the element of Cipher Key Expansion is used from traditional Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). The approach involves three rounds of these operations for both encryption and decryption. The design has been implemented using Cadence Virtuoso platform, employing XOR arrays for the Add Round Key operation. The Shift Rows operation is realized using a combination of multiplexers, counters, and demultiplexers. The algorithm is of lower complexity as compared to the AES and Data Encryption Standard (DES) algorithms. This novel algorithm is useful where the data is non-critical and the speed and efficiency of the data is more important than the security of data.
