Analysis of Electric Field on the Surface of Fittings and Main Equipment Inside ± 800kV UHV Converter Valve Hall Based on the Finite Element Analysis

The valve hall in a UHV converter station serves as the hub of a UHV DC transmission project. When operating normally, it adheres to rigorous standards concerning the surface electric field of its internal fittings. Consequently, during the design phase of the valve hall, it is crucial to calculate and validate the electric field strength on the surface of these fittings to guarantee that it remains beneath the corona field strength for each piece of equipment. In this paper, the simulation calculation of the high-end valve hall fittings of a UHV DC transmission project ± 800kV converter station is carried out. The numerical calculation method of the surface electric field of the UHV DC valve hall fittings is studied. The whole model of the valve hall equipment is established to calculate and analyze the electric field. The distribution characteristics of the surface electric field when the valve hall equipment is working are obtained, and the maximum surface field strength of each fitting in the valve hall is found. Analyze whether it is dizzy, study the distribution law of its surface field strength, and check the performance of shielding fittings.
