Temperature Monitoring of Contact Connections of Electrical Equipment with 0.4 kV Operating Voltage

The paper proposes a method of continuous monitoring of the contact temperature of electrical equipment in closed transformer substations with operating voltage up to 0.4 kV. The system of temperature control with wireless transmission of measured values on the basis of temperature sensors DS18B20 and micro controller ATmega328 is created. Specialized software is developed, which allows the conversion of measured values, as well as their wireless transmission to the main control terminal. For which a program displaying the measured values in graphical and digital representation is also created. The block diagram of the algorithm of the developed software of the created temperature monitoring system is presented. In order to reduce the errors associated with the method and place of fixing the sensor, experimental studies were carried out and a simulation model describing the processes of heat transfer in the place of contact connection was created. The most optimal place of temperature sensor fixing was proposed, taking into account the peculiarities of busbar fixing to the electrical equipment contacts, with automatic correction of the measurement error into the program algorithm. The obtained methodology can be used to create systems of continuous temperature monitoring of connecting contacts for higher voltages.
