Absorption and Adsorption Cooling Cycles for Residential Applications in Moscow Region

Sorption cooling represents a significant advancement in modern technology. This study focuses on both adsorption and absorption cooling mechanisms to generate moderate cooling for indoor air conditioning. Currently, 70% of air conditioners worldwide operate on electricity, while the remaining 30% utilize thermal energy. The implementation of absorption refrigerating cycles (ABRCs) and adsorption refrigerating cycles (ADRCs) powered by solar energy presents a viable solution to decrease electricity consumption during peak hours, particularly when solar radiation is at its peak. This paper presents a comparative analysis of sorption cooling methods employing solar energy. The research also aims to establish a foundational basis for implementing an experimental model of adsorption refrigerating cycles using solar collector, that operates under the climatic conditions of Moscow region, characterized by low solar radiation.
