Compact CPW Fed Tri-Band Antenna for IOT and 5G Applications

A low-profile, compact antenna design for triband resonance frequency is studied. The proposed design is based on a triangular three-ring CPW-fed antenna. Various parameter analyses of the design are carried out to finalize the dimensions of the proposed structure. A substrate dimension of 30 mm x 30 mm is used to print the structure. The nested loop configuration results in electrically coupled capacitances, while magnetically coupled mutual inductances generate triband band resonances. The proposed antenna is suitable for 2.4 GHz WLAN, 3.5 WiMAX, and 3.4-3.7 GHz 5G applications. Loop antennas with improved reflection coefficient characteristics, multiband capabilities, and compact sizes have substantial advantages.
