Anaerobic Digestion of Napier Grass and Cow Dung: A Sustainable Approach to Bio-methanation

This study provides us with an estimate of the amount of gas produced in batch scale digesters at various ratios using Napier grass and cow manure. For inlet and output slurry, various parameters like MC, TS, VS, and FS are analytically determined. Napier grass characteristics were observed on various days. Variations in crude protein, crude fiber, ether extract, nitrogen-free extract, and the percentage of total ash content were all examined. The primary goal of the research is to determine whether producing methane from energy crops in a lab-scale digester is feasible, to study the properties of grass to utilize the bio-methanation process and its output as fertilizer, to assess the feasibility of potential energy crops and crop leftovers for rural areas, as well as to compare methane output with pilot scale plants.
