Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Technology: Global Scenario, Future Scope, Challenges, and Implementation

Transportation electrification is seen as a major subject of R&D as well as investment owing to climate change. Land transportation electrification is the first before the air and sea transport electrification and is seeing many major changes on engine, infrastructure, connectivity, policy, promotions, and challenges. This paper articulates the ongoing implementation and vision for V2G across the globe. Geographical influences on the implementation of V2G technology have been reported. Grid side challenges and the key components for V2G infrastructure development have been discussed. Finally, the critical aspects of power electronics for the design of efficient and reliable V2G chargers have been presented.
