Brain Fingerprinting and Machine Learning: A Futuristic Approach to Forensic Science

Brain fingerprinting (BF) is a cutting-edge approach in forensic science that analyzes the brain wave response that determines personal involvement in an event. This paper explores the use of brain waves generated using electroencephalogram (EEG) devices and its contribution to diverse real world appli- cations with specific discussion in the field of forensic science. The paper further discusses the challenges faced in brain fingerprinting and the various models that have been applied to achieve considerable results. Some real world applications of brain fingerprinting in forensic science and crime investigations are also listed highlighting the efficacy of the technique.
