FPGA-based Digital Filter Design: A Review Paper

Digital filters are used in a variety of applications. One of the main objectives of creating digital filters is to approach the desired response. Filter design supplies the specifications, calculates the coefficients, and implements the filter on the hardware. Digital filters are typically used to process and produce the desired signal, like pictures or video streams, and this has compelled scientists, engineers, and researchers to use newly developed current tools and technology to create digital signal processing systems utilizing inventive, skilful, and intelligent ways. Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) has emerged as a significant digital circuit implementation medium in the past decade. This paper offers several methods for designing the digital filter. The article also surveys contemporary FPGA architecture. A smaller number of multipliers and adders are used in the FPGA-based digital filter design to reduce complexity and decrease expense. Compared to the conventional methods, FPGA design performs better due to its parallel processing.
