Classical Explanation of Photoelectric Effect

Although the photoelectric effect is not a hot topic at present, especially new learners of physics are curious about this topic because they are always confused as to how light manifests itself as a particle despite being a wave. The first thing we notice in retracing this problem is that the electric field does not exert a direct force on the charge of any electrically charged particle, but rather on the electric field accompanying that particle. This means that if two independent electric fields are close to each other, they apply force on each other in terms of field-field interaction. It is further observed that the asymmetry of the electric field in the light wave is responsible for the electron to follow a curved path. This thing is responsible to produce the photoelectric effect. As the wavelength of the wave decreases or the frequency increases, the asymmetry of the electric field increases. Not only this, it is also seen that the asymmetry in the electric field is responsible for creating the effect of the magnetic field. This further implies that the magnetic force must increase with increasing frequency of electromagnetic waves and there must be a phase difference of 90 degrees between the electric field wave and the magnetic field wave in any electromagnetic wave propagating in space.
