Enhancing Small Vehicle Performance with BWO MPPT-Based Solar-Powered BLDC Motors

This paper presents the enhanced performance of solar-powered BLDC motor drives with BWO-based MPPT for small Commercial Vehicles. The proposed system harnesses solar energy from solar photovoltaic (SPV) and an optimized BWO-based MPPT control approach to extract maximum solar power. The battery storage system integrates with a bidirectional converter (BDC) across a DC link, ensuring smoother operation even in varying operating scenarios. The BLDC motor is driven by a three-phase two-level voltage source inverter, with a sophisticated control mechanism ensuring optimal speed and torque under various load conditions. We also endorse the design of the proposed system components. The endorsed outcomes validated satisfactory performance under fluctuating irradiance and temperature scenarios and offered a viable and energy-efficient alternative for powering SCVs for sustainable transportation.
