Low Power Image Display Technology Based on Adaptive Histogram Correction and Matching

Most of the battery power in portable consumer electronics is consumed by AMOLED display panels, making these products need to be charged frequently, which reduces the user experience. Therefore, an adaptive low power scheme is preposed. Firstly, the histogram correction factor is generated adaptively according to the overall brightness of the image, and then the low power processing is realized by the combination of histogram correction and matching. Due to the larger power reduction space of the brighter image, a histogram correction factor is generated adaptively according to the brightness characteristics of the input image, so that the histogram of the brighter image can be corrected significantly. In addition, in the process of correction, the low-segment histogram is kept unchanged, and only the high-segment histogram is corrected, so that the corrected histogram can take into account both the power reduction and the visual effect preservation. The experimental results show that this method can improve the comprehensive power reduction index by 16.58%, indicating that this method can reduce the display power while maintaining the visual effect.
