Development of Interactive Learning Media Based on Bloom’s Taxonomy to Increase Student Engagement and Understanding

This study explores how Bloom's Taxonomy can be applied to the development of an interactive learning media prototype aimed at increasing student interest and understanding of the history of Indonesian national heroes. Traditional history classes often struggle to capture students' attention and effectively convey the material. The advancement of information and communication technologies has opened up opportunities for more innovative teaching methods, particularly in history education. Using Bloom's Taxonomy as a framework, this study develops an interactive learning tool that supports various cognitive levels, from basic knowledge to evaluation. The prototype, developed through the Research and Development (R&D) process, includes educational videos, interactive quizzes, modules with information about national heroes, and activities that encourage active student participation. The study involved history teachers and sixth-grade students at SDN 105319 Limau Mungkur. The effectiveness of the learning media was evaluated through questionnaires, interviews, and pre- and post-test assessments. Results showed a significant improvement in student learning and engagement, with $\mathbf{8 5 \%}$ of students expressing increased interest in history lessons and $\mathbf{9 0 \%}$ showing greater involvement after using the interactive media. The average student score increased from 60 to 85 (p-value <0.05). Teachers provided positive feedback, stating that the use of the media enhanced student engagement and enjoyment of the lessons.
