IoT-based System for The Stroke Survivor Feature Needs: A Qualitative Analysis

This study explores the specific needs of stroke survivors for an IoT-based health monitoring system. The research uses qualitative research with data collection through interviews with 15 stroke survivors. The data is then analyzed using thematic analysis. The result of the study employed two main themes: Health Metric Integration, which specifies the data collection, real-time tracking, data visualization, and user interface. Another theme is Medication Reminders concerning alerts and reminders for stroke survivors and user education. By focusing on the design and functionality of digital tools, this research provides insights for developing effective solutions that address their unique challenges. The results highlight the necessity of developing IoT-based solutions that are both accessible and intuitive, specifically tailored to address the issues faced by those who have had a stroke. Integrating these elements will significantly enhance the management of long-term health issues, improving this population’s quality of life. This study offers essential information for future research and development of inclusive and effective health technology for stroke survivors and related patient populations.
