Fan Blade CMM Measurement Method

Fan blades have the characteristics of large size, thin blade body, strong distortion, high accuracy and so on. Traditional measurement methods are difficult to measure accurately. To solve the measurement problem of the fan blades. A method of measuring blade profile features based on coordinate measuring machine(CMM) is studied in this paper. This method uses blade jigs to raise the measuring datum, high precision scanning probe to acquire blade profile coordinates, and fast and accurate measurement of fan blades is achieved. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper takes into account the geometric characteristics of the fan blades. by establishing the auxiliary coordinate system, optimizing the measurement path, fitting blade profile curve, the parameters of the blade profile are extracted effectively.
