Improved Single-Slice Rebinning Reconstruction Method for Segmtented Helical Computed Tomography (SHCT)

High spatial resolution and large field-of-view (FOV) are two contradictions in computed tomography. Recently, segmented helical computed tomography (SHCT) has been developed to extend the FOV in both axial and lateral directions simultaneously, which has great research significance and application value in industrial inspection. However, SHCT requires a large amount of data acquisition so that its 3D reconstruction places high demands on both time and hardware equipment. To address these issues, we propose an improved single-slice rebinning (ISSRB) and reconstruction algorithm that rearranges 3D data into 2D and reconstructs it using short scan reconstruction algorithms. This improvement can alleviate the shortcomings of the single-slice rebinning algorithm (SSRB) in nature and achieve better reconstruction results.
