The article examines the transformation of the teacher's place, role, and functions under the influence of modern pedagogical innovations and cultural and socio-economic processes. Shifts in public expectations regarding higher education, advancements in learning methodologies, and evolving economic and technological environments highlight the importance and significance of a teacher's role within the higher education landscape. The first part of the article explores the technological and socio-cultural processes affecting the modern university. The second part analyzes transformations in the academic profession and pedagogical methods, tools, and formats used in the learning process.
