Novel Soft Switching Modulation Strategy for Three-Phase Matrix-DAB Converter Considering the Parasitic Parameters of Switching Devices

In industrial applications, the single-stage three-phase ac/dc matrix dual active bridge (M-DAB) converter faces challenges in achieving soft switching under light load conditions due to its large number of switches and wide voltage range. Current research primarily focuses on the commutation strategies on the matrix converter side, with relatively little attention given to soft switching on the H-bridge side. To address this gap, this study explores a soft switching strategy based on the M-DAB converter. An internal phase shift angle is introduced on the H-bridge side, and the parasitic parameters of power switching devices are considered to control the current amplitude at switching moments, enabling the converter to achieve soft switching even under the challenging light load conditions. To validate the effectiveness of this approach, a prototype was constructed. Comparative analysis with recent similar studies indicates that the proposed strategy has promising application prospects and market potential.
