Sentiment Analysis on Cyber Attacks Against Bank Syariah Indonesia Using the IndoBERT Method

Bank Syariah Indonesia is one of the Islamic banks that has obtained an operational license from the National Sharia Council. The development and utilization of information technology carries its own risks for the banking sector. Like the ransomware attack experienced by Bank Syariah Indonesia on May 8–11, 2023, the perpetrators claimed to have stolen 15 million customer data, employee information, and around 1.5 terabytes of internal data. This incident triggered various responses from the public on social media, one of which was on Twitter, through uploads known as tweets. This study aims to analyze Twitter sentiment towards the cyber attack that occurred at BSI to determine the majority of public sentiment categories towards the incident. The results of the study showed that the majority of sentiment was negative sentiment as many as 13,120 tweets or 58.4% of the total sentiment. Testing in this study showed that the IndoBERT model had good performance in classifying sentiment classes with an accuracy value of 93%, precision of 91%, recall of 90%, and F1-Score of 90%.
