Performance Analysis of FinFET models based Quaternary Multiplexer

Multivalue logic systems are gaining popularity in recent years since they have the potential to compensate the drawbacks of conventional binary logic by enhancing computational efficiency and data replication. Quaternary logic is an emerging perspective in the field of multivalue logic, which presents a solution to the limitations of traditional binary logic by allowing four states instead of two states. In this paper, a quaternary $4: 1$ multiplexer using three different models of 18 nm FinFET technology is designed. Simulations were performed on the simulation tool cadence virtuoso and comparative analysis was done by using LVT, SVT, and HVT FinFET models. The designed quaternary $4: 1$ multiplexer find applications in various digital systems including microprocessors, digital signal processing, communication systems, and arithmetic units. They are used for selecting between multiple input sources, routing data, implementing logic functions, and reducing the complexity of circuit designs.
