HIL Simulation Design and Considerations for Automated Manual Transmission ECU

Hardware in loop simulation concept is quite ubiquitous in embedded system testing due to its advantages. Now a days its importance is increasing as technology is advancing more and systems are getting more complex. Embedded systems are used across all industrial domain from medical to automotive to aerospace. The intention of this paper is to bring in more clarity in procedure and steps involved about implementing hardware in loop simulation for Automated Manual Transmission ECU, which will help in seamless and faster integration of AMT ECU on HIL and available for test functionality during development, which will reduce development cycle time and cost. This paper takes you through various stages of HIL implementation and describes challenges involved and how to solve them also it describes certain consideration to keep in mind while achieving closed loop HIL simulation for example like hardware card selection and its configurations. Then it gives bit of idea about version management for HIL simulation artifacts.
