The Influence of Learning Motivation on Learning Engagement: The Mediating Effect of Academic Self-Efficacy

In order to explore the influencing mechanism of learning motivation on learning engagement and understand the role of academic self-efficacy, this study used the academic self-efficacy scale, learning engagement scale and learning motivation scale to conduct a questionnaire survey on 462 high school students in a certain school. The results show that: Learning motivation has a positive predictive effect on learning engagement; Learning motivation has positive predictive effect on academic self-efficacy; Academic self-efficacy has a positive predictive effect on learning engagement; Academic self-efficacy plays a chain mediating role between learner’ learning motivation and learning engagement.
