An IMU-based Gait Acquisition System for Biomechanical Analysis

This paper presents the development of an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-based gait acquisition system designed for biomechanical analysis. The proposed system uses IMU sensors to capture and analyze gait patterns, providing detailed insights into human movement that are critical for applications such as exoskeleton design and rehabilitation. The data acquisition process is enhanced by the implementation of a Kalman filter, which ensures accurate and reliable processing of sensor data. The suitability of the system for comprehensive biomechanical studies is demonstrated by comparing previously published works, making it a valuable tool for both clinical and research applications in the field of human motion analysis.
