Fuzzy Logic based Temperature Control System for Boilers

Temperature control in boilers is pivotal in manufacturing, especially in industries like paper production, where it directly influences output quality, fuel efficiency, and safety. Boilers are indispensable for generating steam crucial for processing black liquor and white liquor in the paper industry. This paper introduces an innovative approach to temperature regulation through a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) system, leveraging Mamdani-type fuzzy inference system. The FLC system integrates inputs from set points and boiler feedback, employing MATLAB for data sampling and analysis. The Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) is then implemented via an Arduino-based temperature control setup. This methodology aims to optimize temperature regulation within boilers, enhancing manufacturing processes in the paper industry. By ensuring precise temperature control, the proposed system maximizes output quality, fuel utilization, and safety standards. Its adaptability and responsiveness promise significant advancements in industrial operations, with potential applications beyond the paper sector. This research presents a comprehensive framework for enhancing manufacturing efficiency through intelligent temperature control systems, addressing critical needs in modern industrial settings.
