Smart Bin System Based on IoT for Effective Food Waste Management

Food waste is turning out to be a serious issue around the world. Our society is increasingly exposed to the exponential rise in food waste. The burden of food waste must be reduced immediately by implementing standard management procedures. Reducing food waste is crucial in the modern society. The goal of the work is to develop an intelligent food waste management system that can efficiently oversee the procedure. The proposed project is a cloud-based smart waste management system in which the bins are fitted with sensors and load cells that can send data to the cloud about the amount of waste food produced by each person. Cost is computed based on what is thrown. The weight of the food wasted is sent through an SMS to the individual's mobile phone, which will, in turn reduce food waste for them as information about how much food they are wasting will be provided.
