Solar Powered EV Charging Station with Improved Adaptive LMS Control for V2G and G2V Operation

A sustainable and effective charging infrastructure is essential to using electric vehicles (EVs). The challenges of developing a sustainable and efficient EV charging infrastructure are addressed in this study by offering a novel solution: a solar PV-based charging system combined with a Zero Attracting Improved Proportionate Normalised Least Mean Square (IZA-PNLMS) adaptive control algorithm IZA-PNLMS performs better than the existing method in minimizing harmonic distortion, preserving voltage stability, and enabling optimal power extraction from solar panels, efficient EV charging, and smooth grid integration due to its faster convergence, lower error, and DC offset rejection. This article discusses the proposed technology, implementation, and performance evaluation in depth to achieve grid compliance, improved power quality, and sustained and effective EV charging. By examining simulation results under several transient modes, the proper V2G and G2V methods are confirmed.
