Analysis of Indian Instrumental Music on the Behavior of the Human Brain: A Literature Review

This review paper examines how Indian instrumental music influences the human brain, focusing on both short-term and long-term effects. It distinguishes between relaxing and favorite music types, noting that relaxing music generally produces a more soothing effect than participants' favorite music. Specific findings include the positive effects of Dhammavati raga from Indian classical music, measured through an electroencephalogram to assess induced emotions. Advanced Emotive EPOC technology was used to collect signals during music listening, with six feature selection methods applied to identify relevant features. Analysis was conducted using the Neural Network, K-Nearest Neighbors algorithm and support vector machine classifiers. Additionally, The paper examines brain responses to music under different experimental conditions: rest, without a intellectual task, and with a intellectual task. It also discusses the varying effects of music on conditions such as Intellectual Developmental Disorder and stress management, highlighting diverse brain responses to different music patterns.
