Solar Driven Two-Stage Ac-Dc Converters for Vehicle-to-Grid and Vehicle-to-Home Systems

The transition to renewable energy sources is critical for mitigating climate change and reducing environmental impacts. This research investigates the environmental benefits of integrating solar-powered dual stage bidirectional AC to DC converters in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) systems. These converters facilitate the efficient transfer of energy between electric vehicles (EVs), the grid, and residential energy systems, thereby enhancing energy management and sustainability. Across a wide I/P and O/P voltage range, this article discusses and models a popular 2-stage on- board charger that works well. An innovative bridgeless boost buck converter, which may be utilized as a rectifier or an inverter, makes up the first stage. While lowering EMI common mode filtering, it maintains leakage current and common mode noise at comparatively low levels. In order to ensure galvanic isolation and enable in both directions power transfer, the 2 stage is a Dual Active Bridge DC/DC converter made up of a high frequency transformer. A 600-W system with input voltages of 150 Vrms and 100 Vrms, producing 46 Vdc and 220 Vdc outputs, respectively, is the subject of the simulation findings. The simulation's findings demonstrate that ac-to-de power conversion can be executed at peak efficiency of 94.6% and 95.3% when done step-up and step-down.
