Performance Assessment of Optimal Marine Predator Algorithm Based Converter for Grid Connected Wind Energy System

This paper investigates the performance of a grid-connected wind energy system (WES) with a converter utilizing a Marine Predator Algorithm tuned PI controller. The study focuses on optimizing the converter's PI controller gain values using the MPA to enhance the overall system performance. Key performance indicators, including source current, load current, converter injected current, WES current, and Total Harmonic Distortion, are evaluated. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MPA-based approach, a comparative analysis is conducted against the conventional Particle Swarm Optimization method. Results indicate that the MPA-based converter consistently outperforms the PSO-based counterpart, exhibiting marked improvements across all evaluated parameters. This research highlights the potential of employing MPA as an effective optimization technique for enhancing the performance of grid-connected WES.
