Relay Protection Configuration of High-voltage Plant Power System for Solar Thermal Power Plant

The relay protection system is widely used in power plants, substations, and transmission lines as an automatic device that can quickly and selectively remove faults when the power system fails or runs abnormally. Relay protection can quickly and selectively remove fault trips and find abnormal operating conditions, and notify the operation and maintenance personnel to deal with it in time. Photothermal power generation is the process of converting solar energy into heat energy and generating electricity through thermal work conversion. Compared with conventional thermal power units, the photothermal power generation system needs to have better regulatory performance, so higher requirements are put forward for the rapid start-up and frequent start-stop ability of the photothermal power generation system, as well as the adaptability to load changes and the efficient and stable operation of the turbine. This also puts forward higher requirements for the relay protection system of the high-voltage power plant of the photothermal power station, which requires that it can meet the requirements of selectivity, quick movement, sensitivity, and reliability. Based on the experience of commissioning, testing, technical supervision, protection setting calculation, and the operation experience of each power plant in the protection of plant electricity, this paper summarizes the configuration principle of the relay protection of power plant system and provides a good basis for the protection application of power plant electrical designers and related professionals. It plays a positive role in ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power plant.
