Failure Analysis and Improvement Measures of a Tank Circuit Breaker

In response to a tank breaker failure in the network, this article analyzes the test and maintenance of circuit breakers and the circuit resistance, mechanical characteristics, and X-ray digital imaging detection of circuit breakers of the same model and batch. The cause of the failure was identified as the abnormal bending of the static main contact petal, which caused poor contact after closing and caused the tank breaker to fail. Through the disassembly analysis of the body, it is determined that the fault is caused by the static main contact being misaligned with the moving main contact during multiple operations. The main contact touches the passive main contact and bends inward after the impact. Eventually, an accident occurs due to poor contact. Finally, the article analyzes the causes of equipment failures from the aspects of product structure and process control and proposes corresponding practical improvement measures to avoid similar failures.
