Quantitative Calculation of the Risk of Loose Strands in Tension Wire Laying

During tension wire laying construction, loose strand defects often occur, which affects the construction quality and wire lifespan. A wire loose strand risk evaluation model established by polynomial weights was cited and applied in a certain AC ultra-high voltage line project. We calculated the probability of wire loose strand risk based on the construction parameters of different sections and proposed suggestions: within a pay-off section, the number of corner towers, degree of corner towers, and number of pulley passes should be minimized as much as possible to reduce the risk of wire loose strand and effectively improve the quality of pay-off construction.
