An Optimal Difference Calculation Method of Peak and Valley Time-sharing Tariff For Energy Storage System

In the quest for sustainable energy solutions, optimizing the division of peak and valley hours is crucial for enhancing the economic viability of various energy storage technologies. This paper proposes methods to optimise the division of peak and valley hours to enhance the economics of different energy storage technologies. Firstly, this paper pays special attention to the key revenue models such as low storage and high generation operation benefits, power benefits and deferred grid investment returns. Secondly, the profitability thresholds of pumped storage, compressed air storage and battery storage under different peak and valley spread conditions are analyzed through examples. Thirdly, strategies for improving the operational efficiency and reducing the costs of these energy storage systems are explored. Finally, the profitability thresholds of different energy storage technologies under different peak and valley spread conditions are analyzed by examples. The conclusions demonstrate that optimizing peak and valley hour division is essential for achieving economic viability across various energy storage technologies.
