A Plugin-Based Testing Tool in an Adaptive Automated Testing Infrastructure for Consumer Electronics Devices

Automated testing plays a crucial role in agile software development by enabling continuous quality assessment of Systems Under Test (SUTs) throughout the development lifecycle. However, implementing automated tests for embedded systems, such as digital TV receivers and smartphones, poses significant challenges. This paper introduces the Plugin-Based Testing Tool (PBTT), a flexible and scalable tool designed to facilitate test execution and provide a graphical interface for visualizing test results. The PBTT architecture supports the seamless integration of various SUTs and simplifies the development of new plugins. A plugin has been implemented to validate adaptability of PBTT, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving software quality by streamlining the testing process and enhancing result analysis.
