Research on Scheduling of Multiple Categories of Time-Sensitive Streams in FiWi Networks

This paper first summarizes the time-sensitive streams in industrial and home networks into four categories: strict time-sensitive stream, statistical average time-sensitive stream with scheduling granularity as a single packet, statistical average time-sensitive stream with scheduling granularity as a set of packets, and non-time-sensitive stream. Then, a preliminary analysis of the scheduling capability of FiWi networks for time-sensitive streams is conducted. Lastly, upstream and downstream scheduling strategies are proposed for these four categories of time-sensitive streams in FiWi networks.
