Children with Aphasia (Inability to Speak Well): An Android Application for Voice Augmentation and Alternative Communication

In this work, we introduce My Voice, an Android smartphone app that primarily serves as a helpful tool for children with aphasia in Arabia and other countries. My Voice's interfaces are available in Arabic and English. Additionally, it offers an easy-to-use dashboard for turning written sentences into speech. In actuality, the dashboard offers three communication modes allowing the user to choose the most expedient and user-friendly approach to sentence construction. We tested My Voice by asking a group of prospective users to use it for a month and then complete a survey based on their experiences in order to assess our work. The survey's responses were overwhelmingly positive. Finally, we plan to add new languages to My Voice, present an iOS version, and include artificial intelligence techniques as a part of our future work plans.
