Design and Study of Anti-Loosening Lightning Arrester Connection Method in Island High-Wind Environments

Zhoushan, located on an island, is frequently affected by typhoons and other extreme weather conditions, making its power grid system highly vulnerable to such events. Under strong winds, lightning arresters are prone to bolt loosening, which may lead to their detachment, posing a severe challenge to the stable operation of the power system. In response to this, this paper conducts an in-depth study of the lightning arrester detachment issue in the 220kV lines in the Zhoushan area. Through finite element simulation, it was discovered that when wind speed exceeds a certain threshold, the shear force on the bolts surpasses the frictional force between the nut and angle steel, resulting in the loosening and detachment.
