Summarization of Sanskrit Text: Approaches and Techniques

The authors present on-going work on Text Summarizing (TS) for Sanskrit text. It is the first ever attempt towards approaches & techniques of Text Summarization for Sanskrit. It looks into the current approaches to the development of TS and suggests appropriate approaches & techniques for Sanskrit considering its peculiar features. The purpose of SATS is to concise manuscripts, improve meaning processing, and improve information retrieval processes. Although extractive text summarization (ETS) is useful, it is often not consistent, making ATS preferable for high-quality summaries. The paper reviews ATS/ETS approaches for Sanskrit and other Indian languages and suggests that a translation-based approach may be the most effective due to Sanskrit's rich morphology. A graph-based approach and supervised learning are also proposed, with future work exploring the collection of languages.
