ARKK ‐ The College Assistant Humanoid Robot

In response to the dynamic landscape of technology, this work introduces an advanced Guide robot designed to redefine the visitor experience at our college. This humanoid marvel focuses on enriching human-machine interaction by incorporating cutting-edge features, creating a seamless and empathetic interface. At the core of the robot's capabilities is its implementation of Natural Language Processing (NLP), allowing it to comprehend and respond to human language in a conversational manner. Utilizing a sophisticated microphone and speaker system, the robot engages users through Speech Recognition and Synthesis, delivering comprehensive information about campus, staff, courses, fees, and other policies and procedures. The humanoid design includes a movable jaw and a head-mounted camera, incorporating functionalities beyond conventional automation. The Head Part features Face Recognition for pre-scanning college staff faces, facilitating daily attendance monitoring. Notably, the robot proactively offers assistance by detecting faces, showcasing its engagement. The navigation system relies on a comprehensive route map stored in a database, providing real-time guidance in response to user inquiries. A user-friendly screen on the robot's body enables versatile input beyond voice recognition, ensuring accessibility. A breakthrough feature lies in the robot's emotional intelligence, recognizing user emotions and responding with a sense of familiarity. This marks a pivotal step in narrowing the gap between machines and humans, contributing to a more empathetic technological landscape.
