Real-Time Direction of Arrival Tracking of Drone Utilising Radio Frequency Techniques

Drone/RF-emitter tracking finds many applications from commercial to strategic. This paper presents digital beamforming with phased array antennas to estimate the Direction of Angle of a radio frequency (RF) source. This technique was realized using an FPGA-based setup of Software-Defined Radio receivers. This paper presents a comprehensive drone tracking system, starting from the RF front end and employing a monopulse tracking algorithm.
