Study of Beam-Wave Interaction in W-Band Folded Waveguide Travelling Wave Tube

Simulation study for W-band Folded Waveguide Travelling Wave Tube (FW-TWT) has been carried out. The study includes electromagnetic and particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation. The electromagnetic simulation is carried out without applying the electron beam. There are three aspects of study in electromagnetic simulation, the dispersion characteristics, the interaction impedance and the transmission characteristics. PIC simulation is carried out by applying the electron beam. The operating characteristics of the W-band FW-TWT have been studied to determine the bandwidth of the structure, the variation of output power versus input power for different cathode voltages.
