Wideband Lightweight Integrated Q-Band Up-Down Converters for Communication System

Design concepts of integrated, wideband multi-channel Q band up-down converters are described in this article. Integrated up-down converters are important part of ELINT systems to process/analyse HF/S band or millimetre wave signals to Q/S/C band signals. Frequency planning of up-down converters are carried out judiciously thus; in-band undesirable spurs can be avoided. Various S/C/X/Ku/K/Q band sharp rejection narrow/wide band filters are designed to get excellent harmonics, spurious, image, isolations and in/out of band features to meet the targeted specifications. Health monitoring status signals are generated for all signals including power supplies to control the system performances. Excellent signal flatness over the band, in-band matching, phase noise, image, in/out of band spurious performances are achieved over ESS $\left(-25^{\circ} \mathrm{C}\right.$ to $+55^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$ and pre-post temperature 3 axis RV) to prove the design concept.
