Design a Super Wideband Antenna with Dual Band Notch Characteristics and its MIMO Applications

This work presents a compact super wide band (SWB) antenna with dual band notch features. The proposed antenna tenders the SWB characteristic by tapering the rectangular radiator at its bottom corners and fedline along with defected ground plane. The antenna initially designed for SWB applications afterwards dual band notch characteristic is introduced by inserting an inverted F-shaped stubs beside the feedline and folded T-shaped notches in the patch. The results show that antenna achieved 178% impedance bandwidth ranging between 2.33 GHz to 40 GHz with dual band notch at WiMax and WLAN band. The electrical equivalent circuit is also realized. The antenna’s simulated and its equivalent circuit’s results are found in well agreement. Further, two elements MIMO antenna using a decoupling structure is designed.
