The Comprehensive Compensation Strategy for Power Quality of Energy Storage DSTATCOM in Low-voltage Distribution Networks

To address the power quality issues brought about by integrating distributed photovoltaic systems and single-phase loads into low-voltage distribution networks, an energy storage static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM) is employed for comprehensive power quality management. First, an integrated compensation strategy is proposed to optimize voltage support and mitigate three-phase imbalance. This strategy can effectively limit the public point voltage during significant active power feed-in from photovoltaic sources, while compensating and optimizing three-phase imbalance through harmonic and negative sequence current detection methods. Second, a current inner-loop control scheme based on a Proportional-Integral-Resonant (PIR) controller is introduced, which overcomes the limitations of traditional control strategies that cannot achieve zero steady-state error in current tracking, and addresses issues such as steady-state errors and insufficient anti-interference capability. Finally, a simulation model is built in MATLAB/Simulink, and the results indicate that the proposed control strategy effectively addresses the power quality issues in low-voltage distribution networks.
