Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter with Multicarrier Pulse Width Modulation Technique

Multilevel Inverters (MLI) are extensively used due to their adequate rated output power, decreased harmonic, and much less electromagnetic interference. MLI has more switches and DC sources, which raises complexity and expense. The suggested multilayer inverter generates 31 output voltage levels while utilizing the fewest switches possible. More levels are produced by asymmetric topology when the number of sources is decreased. The switching pulses are made using the Multicarrier pulse width modulation [MCPWM] method. The harmonics drop as the number of levels increases because the harmonics also decrease. As the MCPWM technique is used, the total harmonics distortion (THD) gets reduced. Thus, the projected topology appreciably reduces the complication of the control circuit, cost, and lower order harmonics and thus effectively reduces THD. The simulation and results in output voltage, current, and harmonics of 31-level multilevel inverter with high-quality power are noticed. A comparative analysis of newly proposed topology and IEE papers has been made regarding THD, the number of switches, DC voltage sources, and output levels. MATLAB/Simulink and hardware will test the topology.
