Study on Phase-Change Cooling for A Reactor Used in Offshore Wind Power Converters

Effectively addressing the cooling issue is essential for further improving the power density of the reactor. Based on the structure and cooling characteristics of a reactor in offshore wind power converters, this paper proposes a phase-change cooling solution utilizing isothermal heat pipes. The design of the cooling system is verified through temperature simulations of the reactor coils. Furthermore, the cooling efficiency and temperature uniformity of the proposed phase-change cooling solution utilizing isothermal heat pipes are confirmed through a temperature experiment on the coils model.
